Episode 4 of Superman & Lois "Haywire" reveals Morgan Edge's plans and plots in Smallville, which turns out not a sweet sweet home for the Kent family to live in.

CLARK AND THE CRAZY KILLGRAVE
Clark once again struggles to fulfill his duties as a husband, dad and, as we know, a superhero. Clark's latest adventure begins when his cranky father-in-law asks him to help escort a dangerous criminal to a new prison.
Clark politely refuses that request, in order to spend time training football for his 2 children. Incidentally, the criminal is Thaddeus Killgrave, a psychopath radicalized by hatred of Superman, who escaped during the prison transfer.
Superman finally pins Thaddeus Killgrave’s location, but he is attacked by the mad man with a special sound weapon, capable of temporarily disabling Superman's powers.
GENERAL SAM's PLAN 7734
The relationship between General Sam and the Kent family becomes strained and intense when he deliberately interfers in many family affairs, and was bluntly "unwelcomed" by Lois.
The hard relationship with Lois (and Superman), along with Captain Luthor's constant warnings about Superman, leds him to start Project 7734 (which he calls a "backup plan") - apparently a plan against Superman somehow.
MORGAN EDGE AND X-KRYPTONITE
Clark, busy with his superhero duties, brokes his promise to his wife to attend a town hall voter meeting where Lois wanted Clark to use his influence over the local residents to reverse the approval of Morgan Edge's mining project in Smallville.
The episode ends with Leslie Larr helping Morgan punch a hole through a rock wall in the mine they just wins the right to exploit. It proves to contain "enough X-Kryptonite to revive an army" according to Morgan.
