In Episode 10 of Superman and Lois, "O Mother Art Thou", Morgan Edge reveals himself to be Tal-Rho, son of Zeta-Rho and Lara Van-El (also Superman's mother) and was sent to Earth on a mission even before Clark Kent to revive the Kryptonians and their civilization.

Morgan Edge uses the Eradicator which was invented by their mother, to implant the minds and DNA of the Kryptonians into humans, turning them into hosts, fully controlled by the minds of the Kryptonians and embedded with super powers.
This motif is similar to Venom in the Marvel universe but is copyrighted by Sony Pictures, in which alien symbiotes occupy human hosts on Earth, taking complete control of the host and granting them the supernatural powers.
Edge was the first Kryptonian sent to Earth, before Superman. When Edge landed on Earth in England, he was imprisoned and treated as a test subject to discover the power within him. This causes Edge to have a hatred for humanity. He convinces Superman to take his side in his plan to resurrect the Kryptonians, control the humanity, and rule the Earth.
Superman declines the offer; Morgan Edge threatens to eliminate him.
Superman & the Department of Defense use the Eradicator to implant the mind of Superman's mother into Lana, so that she could engineer a device to reverse the implantation process on people who had been experimented by Edge.
Superman's mother in Lana form also reveals that she was initially betrothed to Zeta-Rho and gave birth to Tal-Rho (Morgan Edge), later she met Jor-El (Superman's father) and fell in love with him and the two shared the same tolerant mind about humanity.
Superman is pursued by Edge's team of Kryptonians in human hosts; He uses most of his power to activate the reverse device, returning all the transplanted hosts to their normal state, including Kyle and Lana. The energy that Superman burns himself is said to be equivalent to the energy from the sun!?
Superman lands near the Fortress before passing out, as he has now been drained of all his powers. Elsewhere, Edge & Leslie are approaching a canyon, preparing for another plan.
"Not all is lost," Edge said.
