The animated film Mortal Kombat Legends: Snow Blind 2022 continues the events of the Mortal Kombat Legends: Battle of the Realms 2021 years after. The film follows the fight of the young Kenshi Swordsman, the receded Sub Zero and Scorpion against the alien King Kano who is gradually taking over the Earthrealm.

Determined to take over the Earth, Kano attacks city after city with the help of three cold-blooded mercenaries from the Black Dragon. However, there is one unruly, warmhearted and heroic young man who does not kneel before Kano: Kenshi.

After being defeated by the Black Dragon and Tremor and severely injured, Kenshi is promised help by an unknown man and led to the Well of Souls to retrieve a treasured magical sword. However, that person turned out to be the soul-sucking witch Shang Tsung, who uses Kenshi to open the lid of the magic well, leaving him blind. Shang Tsung throws Kenshi into a well to die, but thanks to that he finds a magical sword called Sento.

After absorbing souls from the well, Shang Tsung regains his youth and strength, and challenges Kano to a fight for the throne; But what he didn't expect is that Kano is actually a robot and has no soul.

Kenshi then receives the help and care of Kuai Liang, also known as New Sub-Zero from the previous installment. Now he has retired to hermitage as a diligent farmer. He reluctantly trains Kenshi. Kuai Liang is the only contemporary martial artist strong enough to challenge Kano.

Kenshi with the sword Sento goes to Kano's castle to get revenge. He defeats countless of Kano's masters but is eventually arrested and awaiting execution. Knowing the above situation, Sub-Zero has no choice but to summon Scorpion's help and the two go to war with Kano.
