An unexpected sandstorm transports Lieutenant Artemis (Milla Jovovich) and her unit (TI Harris, Meagan Good, Diego Boneta) to a new world inhabited by giant and terrifying monsters.

In their desperate fight for survival, the team encounters a mysterious Hunter (Tony Jaa), whose unique skills help him to tame beasts. As Artemis and the Hunter slowly build trust, she discovers that he is part of a group led by Admiral (Ron Perlman) in the battle to save their world from destruction.

The three biggest monsters in the movies are a giant scorpion with sharp limbs, an exceptionally fast and ferocious two-horned rhinoceros, and a fire-breathing flying dragon.

The unique characteristic of these beasts is that they are immune to most human fire, but only succumb to prehistoric weapons such as knives and arrows that carry certain magic.

Another interesting thing is that each monster has its own power characteristics, so killing requires different strategies, tactics and weapons. The film also has impressive scenes (or effects) of the ancient world with dinosaurs and a scene similar to "Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom": a forest fire that causes the animals to die, dinosaurs panick and run like a waterfall down the ocean.

The film stars Milla Jovovich, Tony Jaa, Tip "T. I." Harris, Meagan Good, Diego Boneta, Josh Helman, Jin Au-Yeung and Ron Perlman.
