Episode "Glorious Purpose" of the Loki series is set in Avengers: Endgame's 2012 incident when Loki steals the Tesseract block containing the Space Stone and disappears into an invisible portal. This act of Loki creats a new timeline and an alternate version of himself.

Not long after his escape, Loki is captured by TVA (Time Variance Authority) hunters and brought to its Headquarters. Loki is convicted as a Variant that could lead to chaos in the universe, and is sentenced to Reset (death).
Loki is lucky when Agent Mobius (Owen Wilson) tells the judge to spare Loki because he thinks Loki can assist him in catching another mysterious time Variant.
Mobius reveals that our Loki isn't the only Loki variant roaming the timeline. Another version of him has been creating timeline chaos and killing TVA agents from various eras and stealing their technology - the reset devices.
An incident occurs at a church in France in 1549 when the mysterious Variant kills the TVA agents, robbing their weapons. A little girl witness describes the killer look like a devil in a church painting - with a set of horns.
TVA agents also discovers mineral oil in 1858 in Salina, Oklahoma, and suggests that someone from the far future has used a time machine to travel back to this past to get rich on oil. In real life, oil was discovered in this town in 1859. The TVA hunters then are trapped in an oil fire set by the masked Variant and no one survives it.
