The episode focuses on the daily life of soldiers at Camp Mathilda located near the Kuwait-Iraq border. Bravo Company (led by the the tough Colonel Stephen Ferrando) of the 1st Reconnaissance Battalion had to "fight" with boredom, cramped tents, and lack of space, shortage of necessary supplies and military equipment.
Then there are the incidents and conflicts related to the mustache norm, the carelessness of the officers, the desert sandstorm that collapsed the camp, the burning of the coffee machine and … rumors about the death of Jennifer Lopez.
The boring atmosphere is somewhat alleviated by a series of obscene and creative dialogues about racism, homophobia and sexism. A soldier daily records videos showing off the body of a handsome male in the unit to later ... sell the footage to male porn websites.
They also welcomed a reporter from Rolling Stone, who will join Bravo's five-car 2nd Platoon, permanently stationed in a Humvee with Team Leader Brad "Iceman" Colbert, Driver Ray Person and the young Corporal James Trombley.
Finally, they were treated to a surprise by a epic pizza party before setting off. They dismantled their camps, packed their Humvees, and crossed the northern border into Iraq - and into an uncertain future.
