The Northern Kingdoms defeated the Nilfgaardian Empire at the Sodden Hill. Tissaia (MyAnna Buring) uses telepathy magic across the battlefield to find Yennefer's whereabouts but to no avail. There, Geralt meets Tissaia and the two think Yennefer is dead.
Geralt vs Bruxa
Continuing their journey, Geralt and Ciri find a deserted village. Geralt goes around the manor of an old friend Nivellen, and discovers that he has been transformed into a wild boar-like form by a curse.
While staying overnight at Nivellen's house, Ciri meets Vereena, Nivellen's secret lover. Geralt investigates the village and determines that the culprit responsible for the destruction of the village is a Bruxa - a bat-shaped vampire who can transform into a young woman.
Geralt discovers that Vereena is feed Nivellen's blood on his bed. In the ensuing battle, Geralt kills Vereena, and consequently breaks Nivellen's curse of "Love and Blood".
Nivellen explains that he found Vereena injured in the forest and brought her home to cure. Vereena is willing to stay with him regardless of his monster appearance. Nivellen lets Vereena feed on his blood, but also ignores her killing the villagers.
Nivellen later confesses that he was cursed not for trashing a temple, but because he raped a priestess during the raid.
Yennefer's Journey
Sunk in grief and anger at the thought of Yennefer, Tissaia decides to use witchcraft to torture Cahir for information about Nilfgaard's plans.
Meanwhile, Yennefer (Anya Chalotra) is captured by Fringilla (Mimî M. Khayisa) and some of the surviving Nilfgaardians. Fringilla intends to take her to Cintra.
However, along the way Yennefer and Fringilla are ambushed by unseen forces; in which all the soldiers accompanying them were killed, leaving only Yennefer and Fringilla alive.
