Baba Voss returns to the capital to warn the Maghra of Trivante's silent invasions and their modern weapons. Being unable to convince Maghra, Baba Voss runs to find Trovere who is sleeping with Harlan to interrogate her but is restrained.

The situation eases when Maghra, who still believes in the possible truce, appears and intervenes. However, upon learning that Paris had been killed by Kane, Baba Voss is burst out to find Kane for revenge but discovers she had mysteriously disappeared.
