Númenor's army on horse appear just in time to prevent the villagers from being massacred. Galadriel and Halbrand chase after and capture the escaping Adar, then recovers an object wrapped in a cloth and they both thinks it to be the hilt of a dark sword.

Adar turns out to have been a Demon, who in the past was captured, tortured, and twisted into an Orc by Morgoth. Beings like Adar are called The Sons of the Dark, or Uruk or Moriondor.

Galadriel tries  to force Adar to tell about Sauron's whereabouts, but he apparently lies that he had killed Sauron.

With the support of the villagers, Queen Míriel proclaims Halbrand King of the Southlands.

At a mountain waterfall, Friggin Waldreg, a loyal follower of Sauron, somehow acquires the hilt of a dark sword, and activates it into a full shape.

He inserts it into a crevice in the rock, which appears to be a padlock, and turns it. The gate wall of the waterfall is now opened, and the water began to flow down the tunnels that the Orcs and the slaves had dug earlier.

Eventually, the water flow activates the volcano next to the village, causing lava and rock to erupt, engulfing the village and many people below, including Númenor's army.

Galadriel stares blankly at the desolation, letting the storm of fire overtake her.
