The Wonder Woman 1984 (or WW 2) is a 2020 American superhero film based on the character of the same name in the DC Comics. This is a sequel to 2017's Wonder Woman and the ninth movie in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU). Set in 1984 during the Cold War, the movie follows Diana (Gal Gadot) and her past-to-resurrected love Steve Trevor (Chris Pine) as they confront the ambitious Max Lord and Cheetah.

The plot revolves around the magical Dreamstone at the Smithsonian Institution where Diana works. Diana accidentally uses the stone to make a wish that her deceased lover Steve Trevor was still alive; the wish comes true and his soul then returns in another man's body and reunites with her.
Barbara (later Cheetah) - a colleague who is jealous of Diana also uses the stone to acquire superpowers like Diana. And businessman Maxwell "Max Lord" Lorenzano - a blatant business owner visited the Smithsonian Institution under the guise of a wealthy sponsor to approach the stone in hopes of saving his failing oil company.
Max Lord and Barbara take advantage of the miracles brought by the stone to satisfy their endless greed, and they refuse to stop until they cause a worldwide disaster. Diana must fight against them and she also has to accept to give up her wish, which means she would lose her beloved Steve Trevor again and forever, to undo the wishing powers of the stone.
