Geralt vs Chernobog
On the way to Melitele, the monster Chernobog created during Ciri's previous scream appears. This monster is stronger than Geralt's imagination, so he has to drink the special potion to activate his maximum strength, and at the same time, he must use Ciri as bait to lure Chernobog into the trap.
During this fight, Roach was badly wounded by Chernobog and Geralt had to help him die painlessly. Ciri says she felt Chernobog had no intention of attacking her.
Battle at the Temple of Melitele
At the Temple of Melitele in Ellander, Ciri is oriented by Nenneke to develop her abilities and magic. However, while everything is still unfinished, disaster strikes on everyone.
Yen is brought by the Deathless Mother to Melitele to find Ciri. Here, she meets Geralt and the two are extremely happy to see each other again. However, Yen does not give up her intention to take Ciri to the cleft outside Cintra as requested by the Deathless Mother.
Before that, Rience infiltrated Kaer Morhen and attacked Vesemir in his search for Geralt and Ciri, and stole the mutagen potion.
Rience and his crew of savage assassin mercenaries attack the Melitele Temple in the middle of the night. The assassins holds off Geralt while his weapons are kept in the Temple's inventory; while Rience pursues Ciri who is on the run with Yen.
Yen instructs Ciri to cast spells to open a portal to escape.
