In episode 5, "WHAT IT ALWAYS IS", a young man living in Oceanside who was assigned to watch Negan turns out be a fan of Negan, and he imitates the classic whistle of Negan in the old days.
The episode depicts the Negan on fleeing, and is pursued by a cold-blooded young man named Brandon - the son of a former savior under Negan's rule in the past. Brandon is in search of rebuilding his old karma, and he falsely thinks that Negan was still as brutal and blood thirsty as he used to be. This led to the painful deaths of a mother and her little boy.
Meanwhile, in the domain of the Whisperers, a number of internal disagreements occurred, forcing Alpha to take some tough measures to pacify the situation and reveal her tactics and strategies to eliminate the survivors. The somewhat mysterious Gamma also performs impressive manifestations to prove her rank in the pack.
